Risk and Compliance Manager
Sam Richards is the Risk and Compliance Manager at Moore & Tibbits. He is responsible for safeguarding the firm’s integrity, reputation and compliance to legal and regulatory obligations.
With extensive experience in legal risk management and regulatory compliance, having previously worked at large regulatory bodies including the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and The Solicitors Regulation Authority, Sam is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust compliance frameworks across the firm.
With expertise in areas such as anti-money laundering, GDPR, risk and complaints, Sam ensures the firm upholds the highest standards of professional conduct and that all the necessary regulatory standards are met.
Sam has a First Class law degree and MSc and provides strategic guidance and practical solutions to support both business objectives and ethical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading firm-wide compliance initiatives and regulatory audits
- Overseeing policies related to risk management, conflicts of interest, and confidentiality
- Advising on data privacy, AML, sanctions, and professional conduct rules
- Training staff and partners on compliance best practices and legal obligations
- Monitoring changes in legislation and regulatory requirements impacting the legal sector
Outside of work, Sam can be found representing England at Dodgeball.
