Paralegal
Lorna is a dedicated Paralegal in the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team, supporting vulnerable individuals and their families in navigating complex legal decisions concerning care, medical treatment, residence, and personal welfare.
Lorna completed her LLB Law with Politics and International Study at The University of Manchester in 2024. She assists solicitors in preparing and managing applications to the Court of Protection, liaising with clients, healthcare professionals, local authorities, and advocacy services.
Her main role involves providing assistance and support to the Court of Protection solicitors with health and welfare matters such as:
• Health and welfare applications under Section 21A and Section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Community care and Care Act 2014 matters
• Matters under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court
• Forced marriages
• Matters which involve medical treatment
Her calm and empathetic nature ensures that clients and families feel heard, informed, and supported at every stage of the process.
Lorna is passionate about promoting the rights of those who may be unable to speak for themselves and is committed to ensuring that all decisions made reflect each person’s unique circumstances, wishes, and best interests.
Outside of work Lorna enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
