Senior Solicitor Antonia Kirby - District Deputy Judge Appointment
Moore and Tibbits are proud to share that Antonia Kirby, a senior solicitor in our Family Team has been appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Midlands, Civil & Family).
Antonia joined our established Family Law Team in March 2024 and will now serve on the District Bench in a part time judicial role while continuing her practice at Moore & Tibbits. Her new position involves presiding over both civil and family law matters within the Midland region.
As a woman of mixed ethnic origin, and with not a single lawyer in my family before me, I feel not only tremendously proud but more than anything, tremendously honoured to have been given such a prestigious opportunity. I am beyond grateful to those who have supported me this far, and those who gave me the (very) firm push to go for it, encouraging me by saying ‘now is the time’. I guess they were right… now is the time!!
Antonia Kirby | Senior Solicitor
As well as being a member of the Law Society’s Specialist Family Panel since 2016, just one year post qualification, Antonia has more recently explored issues such as addressing unconscious bias in the Family Court. Her appointment to the Judiciary is seen as a recognition of both her professional experience and commitment to fairness.
"We’re incredibly proud of Antonia Kirby’s appointment as a Deputy District Judge. Her dedication, integrity, and legal expertise make us confident that she will bring the same excellence to the bench as she has to our team.”
Antonia will continue to divide her time between her judicial duties and her role at the firm, contributing to both Court and community.
